La Farm Bakery needed to gear up their sales and distribution capabilities in support of a huge increase in demand for their delicious products. They had an existing website with some ecommerce capabilities, but the website was confusing to use for visitors and store managers alike. They came to Micro Medic because of our reputation with other successful ecommerce websites in similar industries and our ability to understand their needs.

Micro Medic Web Services re-engineered the navigation structure to make it easy to understand and maneuver, and created a powerful ecommerce store custom-"baked" to the way La Farm does business. We also tastefully maintained the "authentic French bakery storefront" feel they had used previously on the site.

They now can sell products online for delivery, online for pickup in the store, and online for catering. The store has the capacity to handle thousands of orders, which is what they just might see when they are featured in Oprah's magazine in the near future.

Pierce Insurance is headquartered in Farmville, NC but has agents throughout the state of North Carolina. Since they sell many forms of insurance to state governement employees, it is necessary for them to keep in touch with all of the state locations and employees so each is aware of what products are available. Each year an open enrollment period exists for each agency and it is during that time that Pierce must be certain that their agents are communicating with everyone they need to.

Pierce asked Micro Medic to build a web-based management tool to help them. The resultant website is a secure portal through which agents and state agency representatives can keep up to date on forms, enrollment periods, agent coverage and more. The home office can use the system to assure themselves that the individual agents are making timely contact with the agencies as well as use the system to distribute forms and information to agents and agencies alike.

Imagine trying to manage the flow of information in this scenario: You place flat screen tv's in businesses across the country and then sell ad space in 6 second blocks to appear on those screens. Now figure out how to create those ads and distribute them electronically every night - and figure out how to tell whether the tv's are, in fact, on and showing the ads. Now try to manage whether you have signed agreements in place with your advertisers and whether or not you have any tv's that have any unsold time on them. Now think of about 20 other business management problems with this scenario!

Starpoint came to Micro Medic Web Services to build a solution to manage all of this. It started out as a simple database but it quickly became apparent that Micro Medic had the ideas and the talent to package the ads, deliver them, help manage them, and provide the necessary support to keep things running.

The screen grab above is a small of a real-time view of the management console. This view lets Starpoint see, in real time, exactly what is showing on a given screen anywhere in their network of screens. There are many other critical screens and reports that were built to help Starpoint manage their business.

With over 100 active subgroups and entities, Edenton Street United Methodist Church faced a significant problem keeing their web information current.  Realizing that hiring a full-time webmaster was a problematic option, the church tried to get by with a combination of volunteer, staff, and part-time assistance.  Updates were promised weekly, and if an additional modification was required, it would have to wait another week.

A clear need to allow multiple persons to have the ability to update the website emerged, however, control of content for such a prominent member of the community remained a pressing concern.  It was determined that reviewing all inputs before they were made live would be unrealistic and a burden to those charged with the duty.

The solution that Micro Medic devised allowed for multiple persons with functional- area permissions to update only specific areas of the site that site.  Site administrators were given a thoroug audit trail to track, review, and remediate where necessary any changes to the site.  Site administrators also have the ability to manage functional-area users and permissions, thus enabling a sustainable system.

The results have been uniformly successful.  Site administrators are thrilled with the ability to update their information at will, and site users are thrilled to have the updated information.
